Landmark London Buildings Choose Trio Plus Floor Protection Products

Two landmark London buildings have taken pre-emptive steps to safeguard their floors during planned renovation work this summer. Both the Victoria and Albert Museum and the Royal College of Art have purchased red multi use floor protection film from specialist flooring protection firm, Trio Plus.

Described as the best art and design museum on the planet, the Victoria and Albert museum collections are housed in a building dating back to 1855. Playing host to iconic pieces from the worlds of fashion, photography, sculpture, ceramics and more, the V and A building is a capital hub for style and culture. Protecting its 156 year old floors during building work is of historical importance. The question of how to avoid damage from heavy foot traffic, paint, liquid spills and builder’s mess was solved with the acquisition of several rolls of red multi use protection film from temporary floor protection experts Trio Plus.

Nurturing talent and creating future masterpieces that may one day reside in the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Royal College of Art is the most launched postgraduate art and design school in the world. Located close to the V and A building in Kensington, the Royal College of Art is a focal point for the creative industries. Recognising that the gallery floors would need to be protected from paint splashes, dust and other mess during repainting, the College purchased 1200 m2 of multi use protection film.

Designed by Surrey-based Trio Plus, the multi use protection film being used in both locations is a practical polyethylene film provided in a roll form. Suitable for use on windows, mirrors, cabinets, hardware, appliances and countertops as well as tile floors, factory finished hardwood, metal and high-gloss surfaces the film is cushioned and non-slip, making it safe for use in high-traffic areas.

As with all Trio Plus carpet protection and hard floor protection products, the red multi use film can be left on site for 45 days. The eco-friendly self-adhesive backing means there’s no residue or marks left behind when the film is removed.

Trio of BBC Show Productions Now Using Trio Plus Floor Protection Products on Location

When you settle down to watch one of your favourite shows this autumn, spare a thought for the cast and crew who have spent hours on location to get a shot just right. With on location scenes critical to plot development, three separate BBC production teams have turned to Trio Plus to help protect valuable floors at a number of locations set for starring roles in three shows.

Casualty, Waterloo Road and the new TV adaption of Great Expectations have all been shooting away from the BBC studios at a number of locations. In order to protect the floors at these properties from damage caused by heavy foot traffic, dirt, mud and spillages, the BBC production teams choose Trio Plus premier hard floor protection fleece, carpet protection film and regular hard floor protection products during filming.

The cast and crew of hospital drama Casualty are no stranger to location shooting. For an upcoming episode, one of their filming locations boasted valuable hard floors that needed to be protected during the shoot. The production team used Trio Plus Premium Hard Floor Protection. The felt topside is backed by a white anti-abrasive non-woven layer, which prevents fluids or dirt from penetrating through to the underlying wood. The eco-friendly self adhesive makes the fleece easy to fix into place. It can be swept clean while in use and then taken up and stored for re-use at a later date.

The new TV adaption of Charles Dickens’ Great Expectations, which is due to air in three parts on BBC1 at Christmas, had a similar problem during location shoots. The period drama required filming at a number of stately locations, calling for premium hard floor protection during shooting to protect the valuable hard floors.

School saga Waterloo Road chose two separate Trio Plus products during filming of the new series. The production team ordered carpet protection and hard floor protection products to assist with location care during filming.

Summer Floor Savers For Social Soirees

According to a recent survey, a whopping 17 million Brits are planning to forgo a summer holiday this year. The study by an insurance firm found that most had even nixed the idea of a staycation – a phrase coined to mean a holiday spent within the UK. In fact, 88% of those missing out on a holiday in the last three years said they would normally holiday in the UK. The current economic climate is being blamed for the rise in missed holidays, meaning peak summer months July and August are more likely than ever to be spent at home.

The temporary floor protection specialists, Trio Plus, suggest an alternative to a fortnight spent in front of the telly and are encouraging those staying at home to recreate an easygoing holiday vibe by hosting a garden party, BBQ or mock beach party at home. With millions of others also sticking close to home, the guest list is sure to be easy to fill.

While holiday hotspots in favourite destinations such as Spain and France are almost guaranteed sunshine, the British weather is a lot harder to predict. That means BBQs and garden parties can be sun drenched one minute and a washout the next. Rather than risk trekking mud and dirt from the garden into the house when everyone rushes indoors, place the TrioPlus Tackymat by the door. The sticky mats capture dirt as foot traffic passes over the surface of the mat. The non-transferring adhesive grips the dirt particles, keeping the floor within free of garden debris and muddy footprints. An ideal floor protection solution, the Tackymat has a number of surfaces which can be peeled off to reveal a clean new layer.

For more extensive coverage, TrioPlus also offer hard floor protection and carpet protection both of which will provide ample coverage against mud, dirt, heavy foot traffic, spilled food and drink. The firm’s self-adhesive carpet protector is available in standard and heavy duty variations and can be used anywhere from the kitchen and lounge to rugs, stairs and hallway. Supplied on a roll it is quick and easy to apply and remove and leaves no residue when taken up.

With a choice of four hard floor protection products, canapés and cocktails pose no threat no matter how clumsy the party guest. The felt topside is designed to absorb spillages like a sponge, so the liquid can’t penetrate to the flooring below. When the party is over, simply roll up ready to be re-used at the next social soiree.
