Fleece Hard Floor Protection Products for Renovation and Refurbishment

Trio Plus, the leading floor protection retailer, have confirmed two large orders of their specialist Grey Fleece Hard Floor Protection for use during the refurbishment of two very different environments: Mottram Hall Hotel in Cheshire, and the Electric Cinema on Portobello Road in London. The fleece product is one of the most effective and budget-friendly ways in which to protect hard floors whilst construction and refurbishment is carried out. It provides an impenetrable barrier between spillages of paint, oil, dirt and even dust and the floor itself, keeping the surface below in perfect condition in even the most trying of circumstances.

The grey fleece is one of a number of hard floor protection products by Trio Plus and one of three fleece options available. A classic option, the product is supplied in easily stored rolls and can be laid simply without missing a spot. The pre-sterilized cotton and the synthetic fibres act as a sponge absorbing spillages and fluids easily on the top layer, while the polythene backing underneath prevents those fluids from damaging the floors beneath. The cushioned fleece feel also protects from foot traffic and other heavy items which could potentially have an impact on floors.

The sister product of the grey fleece is the Hard Floor Protection Standard White Fleece. The only difference between the products is the colour; the white fleece is great for use in environments where reflections on walls might be an issue, such as a short filming session. This type of standard hard floor protection can be left in place for up to five weeks with no harmful effects to the floor below, and can protect from average levels of footfall. It is ideal for use in buildings like Mottram Hall Hotel and the Electric Cinema.

The third option is a green fleece which is one of Trio Plus’ best selling temporary floor protection products. Easy to install and easy to work with, it has an anti-abrasive non woven top layer which means the product won’t break up and can be swept clean of debris at the end of each day, helping to keep the work area neat and tidy. The green fleece also features an invaluable self-adhesive backing which means it sits tight and safe on hard floors with no need to be taped down and no trip hazards. Thanks to its time and money saving properties, it is particularly popular with TV production companies needing to protect floors while shooting on location.

All three of the fleece products offer unbeatable impact protection, as well as forming an impenetrable barrier against jobsite dirt and mess.

Trio Plus Team Up With Eco-Friendly Architect To Provide Ram Board Floor Protection

TrioPlus, expert floor protection retailer, have recently teamed up with Sutters Partners Architects, a London-based design team committed to delivering stunning housing projects with an emphasis on sustainable living. A huge batch of Trio Plus’ Ram Board hard floor protection was recently delivered to one of the firm’s projects in Putney, which aims to combine eco-friendly homes with stunning architecture and design.

Sutters Partnership Architects not only specialise in building fantastically ‘green’ new homes, they also carry out large-scale renovations, and have taken on a number of heritage and conservation projects too. All of these huge ventures require a lot of manual work from builders, electricians, plumbers and other trades, and it’s vital to keep floors pristine while this work is carried out. Trio Plus’ range of temporary hard floor and carpet protection products provides a failsafe barrier between floors and the work being carried out above. In addition to this, all of the products boast great eco-friendly credentials, and are in line with the sustainable and environmentally-conscious buildings that Sutters Partners Architects are in the process of creating.

The Ram Board floor protection currently in use at the project in Putney was designed specifically for contractors, and is able to cover and protect all kinds of hard floors quickly and efficiently. Unlike the majority of hard floor protection products on the market, Ram Board is completely vapour-permeable, and its built-in breathable layer means it can be used as soon as it is laid. Many other products using adhesive must be left to dry for a certain amount of time before work continues, but the unique construction of the number one floor protection product in America means that much time is saved as a result of no waiting around. The product itself is also made up entirely of recycled materials, meaning the carbon footprint in its creation is absolutely minimised; built from cardboard, paper, ply-fibres and reinforcers, Ram Board has won awards for its environmentally-conscious qualities.

As well as being eco-friendly and time-efficient, Ram Board is also highly durable and suitable for a huge variety of purposes. It can withstand the weight of a forklift truck, and has protected areas such as Hollywood film sets, ancient listed buildings, antique floors, building sites and more. Not only can it protect floors from heavy footfalls and equipment, it also has a moisture-resistant anti-spill top layer, which protects from all liquids effectively, as well as harmful substances such as sawdust, plaster and dirt, all of which are common in areas where building work is taking place.

Trio Plus Floor Protection Products Used in Portuguese Embassy, London For Second Time

A heavy duty carpet protection film from Trio Plus was chosen for a high-profile event at the Portuguese Embassy in London last week, marking the second time its products have been picked to protect the floors of the prestigious building.

The temporary floor protector was requested specifically by Embassy staff, after impressing last summer during an international Wines of Portugal event. It was called up for more international duty for a second wine tasting event hosted to mark the climax of a promotional exercise thrown to highlight the Douro as a destination

Located in one of London’s grandest squares, the historic building is one of a number of embassies in the area and regularly plays host to dignitaries and trade events. As a busy building and a focal point for Portuguese citizens in the UK, 11 Belgravia Square must be maintained in pristine condition, even as events take place.

To safeguard its carpets from wine and food spills as well as heavy foot traffic and dirt, Embassy curators rolled out Trio Plus’ heavy duty carpet protection film. Unbranded and free of logos or other text, the film is fixed atop the carpet, providing a barrier between liquids and other potentially damaging substances and the porous fibres of carpets and rugs, which are often easily stained and difficult to clean.

Re-useable and moisture resistant, the heavy duty temporary carpet protector is available in a range of sizes and once in place, can be left for up to 45 days. Twice as thick as standard carpet protection, it provides industrial grade performance whether used to cover carpets, rugs or stair carpets from parties or builder’s mess.

Affixed with an eco-friendly adhesive that is non-damaging to the carpet fibres, the carpet protector is non-slip and safe to walk on, making it an ideal solution for busy public areas.

Temporary carpet protection is just one of a number of products from Trio Plus designed to safeguard flooring from everyday events, construction traffic, parties and special occasions.

West Midlands School Chooses Ram Board For Hard Floor Protection

A West Midlands school has opted to use a specifically imported hard floor protection product in order to shield the floor of their brand new sports hall as they commence the new school year. Heartlands Academy in Birmingham ordered 800m² of Ram Board to keep their floor in pristine condition as they welcome the annual intake of new students to the school.

With the aim of providing a balanced education, relevant to the needs and abilities of their pupils and attentive to the demands of society, Heartlands Academy serves a broad and diverse community, and helps all pupils mature into responsible adults. Their brand new sports hall was launched this week and will help the school’s PE and Sport department to maintain its award-winning status; the Youth Sports Trust recently awarded Heartlands a National Innovation Award for ‘Excellent Use of PE & School Sport to Improve Whole School Standards’.

The brand new floor in the new building is intended to last for many generations, and as a result, will need some tough protection in the coming years. A consignment of temporary floor protector Ram Board, crafted in and imported from the US and supplied by UK provider Trio Plus, has been laid, in order to give the brand new high-quality floor the fortification it needs.

Many temporary floor protection products are not compatible with new floors which have recently been laid; they require a surface which has been in place for at least a few months. But Ram Board’s unique flex-fibre technology and the vapour permeable layer which protects the floor from all liquids and spillages, means that the hard wood floor protection product can be used on all floors, old or new. The floor protection product is also environmentally friendly and is manufactured using recycled materials including cardboard and ply-fibres.

Ram Board is easy to deliver and even easier to install; the roll format makes for simple transportation from the delivery van to the site where it will be used, and as the product was originally for use on Hollywood film sets, its hardwearing and durable nature are guaranteed. The heavy foot traffic which will be sustained within a school sports hall, especially within the first few weeks of term, with countless assemblies and meetings to acquaint new arrivals with their surroundings, will no longer be a worry, and the brand new floor will be completely protected by this inexpensive, efficient and simple solution.
Floor protection specialists Trio Plus are the only UK suppliers of Ram Board. Orders can be placed online at www.trioplus.co.uk or over the phone: 01372 747555.

Floor Protection During Vital Winter Maintenance

This summer has been one of the wettest on record, and the weather is expected to continue to be as unpredictable as ever in the near future. After an incredibly mild winter last year, late snowfall into 2012 and near-constant rainfall throughout the summer months, the coming months are set to cause problems for the multitude of businesses and homes carrying out building, maintenance, renovation or repair work. In order to be on the safe side, a range of temporary floor protection products are a must for all sites. Easily applied and quick to remove, the unobtrusive and non-branded floor protectors from experts TrioPlus provide a barrier which sits above existing flooring and helps to protect it from constant footfalls, paint spillages, dirt, mud, heavy equipment and anything else which might put flooring at risk of being damaged.

Many homes will choose the winter months to carry out a renovation on their home, whether it’s just in time for the New Year, as a Christmas treat to themselves or just because they would rather spend their time indoors than out in the cold. The temporary carpet protection film available from Trio Plus starts at just £20.00 and is completely child, pet and eco-friendly, making it ideal for those re-painting rooms or using wallpaper paste to give their home a makeover. The adhesive is on the reverse of the film, so the product can be applied to any carpet by hand, and as it is water-based, the film leaves no marks whatsoever on carpets when it is removed.

Businesses which are using the winter months to carry out maintenance work will need to ensure that their flooring will be in prime condition after the maintenance has been carried out. Whether protecting carpets or hard surfaces, Trio Plus’ range of floor protection products are strong, durable and designed to keep flooring blemish free whatever the circumstances. For carpets,  film protection is puncture-resistant and non-skid, making it ideal for places where a high volume or work will be carried out. Trio Plus’ award winning ram board hard floor protector is best-suited for hard, laminated, tiled or stone floors, and forms a vapour permeable, breathable layer which is resistant against all forms of liquid spillage, as well as heavy footfall and bulky equipment.

Trio Plus can also provide carpet or hard floor protection products for more specialist purposes; their products have been used all over the globe on film or television sets, during the renovation of museums, for the protection of valuable or old floors and carpets in listed buildings, and even during exam season to keep the floors sports or assembly halls in good condition. With some of the most famous names in the world listed as clients, including Lexus, Cambridge University, and even the recent James Bond film, Casino Royale, the quality of these products is clear for all to see.
Orders can be placed online at www.trioplus.co.uk or over the phone: 01372 747555.

Ram Board Goes Back To School At Dulwich College

Ram Board, the US-made hard floor protector from Trio Plus, is joining millions of students from around the UK in heading back to school this week. It has been chosen by Dulwich College, an independent day and boarding school in south London to protect its new floor during various works.

Founded in 1619, the current Dulwich College campus was opened in 1870 and resides in a traditionally elegant building designed by the son of the architect of the Houses of Parliament. Outside, triangular gables, turrets and cupolas add a sense of drama and hint at a style known as ‘North Italian of the Thirteenth Century’ while inside, a great hall and sweeping staircases nod to grandeur and the selective academic aspirations the College is founded on.

Having installed a brand new floor, a consignment of Ram Board was laid when a grand piano needed to be moved across the floor to protect the surface from damage. A second deployment of Ram Board temporary hard floor protection has also been ordered for use during maintenance works where lightbulb changes require a 600 kilo scaffold tower.

Unlike many temporary floor protection products, Ram Board can be used with new floors which have been recently laid as it allows them to cure due to its unique vapour permeable layer and Flex-Fibre technology.

Designed to cover hard floors quickly and easily, Ram Board hard floor protection is as kind to the environment as it is to wood, stone, tile, concrete and epoxy surfaces. It is made from 100% recycled materials including cardboard, paper, ply-fibres, and reinforcers. Despite its name, Ram Board is provided from Trio Plus in a roll format, making for easy transportation from storage or delivery truck to job site. Used on construction sites, film sets and in industrial settings, it is tough and long lasting, providing complete peace of mind that expensive, new or old floors will remain in their original unblemished condition even after heavy equipment, builders or foot traffic have been and gone.

Summer Parties Don’t Have To Be a Washout with Temporary Carpet Protection

June and July so far may have been more damp squib than Great British summer with flood warnings in place across much of the country but that doesn’t mean summer parties need to be a washout. After some of the wettest months on records and scenes of flood after flood, moving planned gatherings and special events inside could create huge problems but, it can be made easier with the use of temporary carpet protection film.

With waterlogged gardens comes mud and dirt – both of which can stain carpets and leave the house looking worse for wear. Rather than cancel a party due to the prospect of a messy clean up, temporary carpet protection film can be quickly and easily applied to all carpeted areas including halls and stairways.

Supplied in roll format by Trio Plus, the film can be rolled out the day before and removed the day after. Designed to be unobtrusive, the carpet protector will not make guests feel ill at ease or unwanted but, it will provide a moisture-proof barrier between spilled drinks, dropped food, mud and dirt and the carpet itself. The film is non-slip, making it safe for guests to walk on without the threat of a fall. Unlike many carpet protection products, the Trio Plus film is unbranded – this means it will blend more easily into the environment and not be off putting for guests. It also makes it suitable for use in corporate functions where image is everything.

Trio Plus’ temporary carpet protector is backed with an eco-friendly adhesive, facilitating the coverage of large areas quickly. It is reverse wound so can be applied by hand or, with the assistance of an applicator tool. After the party is over and the guests have left, the film can be peeled up. The adhesive leaves no residue and is safe to use around children, pets and those with chemical sensitivity.

The carpet protector can be combined with Tacky-Mat doorway mats, which can replace traditional mats at exterior and interior doors. Once in place, a adhesive layer captures dirt from the soles of shoes as the mat is walked over, helping to prevent germs and dirt from entering the house.

Carpet protection film starts from just £20.00. To find out more about Trio Plus temporary floor protection products and to order online, visit http://www.trioplus.co.uk

Temporary Floor Protection Product Goes From Strength to Strength

Less than a year after being introduced to the UK by temporary floor protection products retailer, Trio Plus, the American-made Ram Board is rapidly becoming a must have product for some of the country’s most prestigious venues.

Developed to meet the punishing demands of Hollywood film production and super-sized US construction sites, the hard floor protector is now one of the strongest, most durable and most reliable solutions for five star hotels, country houses and buildings of note with hard floors and valuable floors to protect.

Able to withstand the weight of a forklift truck, Ram Board is designed to be uniquely vapour permeable – meaning it can be laid atop floors that have themselves just been laid with no curing time needed. This makes it invaluable on building sites but, its strength of character means it is a safe choice when valuable floors need to be protected from heavy foot traffic, builder’s mess, large scale events and heavy equipment.

A number of five star properties have used Ram Board hard and valuable floor protector since it was introduced by Trio Plus in September. They include the 2012 Pasadena House of Design, which used Ram Board to cover its vintage floors as a team of 21 interior designers and seven landscaped gardeners exhibited their work at the annual showcase event.

The ultra luxurious Hale Country Club and Spa also opted to roll out Ram Board to safeguard new floors at the Cheshire property as final works were carried out ahead of the Club’s grand opening this spring.

Other locations to use Ram Board include the 13th century Grade One listed building Icomb Place, the magnificent five-star Royal Garden Hotel situated in Kensington, the five-star Chancery Court Hotel in High Holborn, Carlton Tower Place on London’s Sloane Street and the new Premier Inn at Dartford.

Made entirely from recycled materials, Ram Board can be laid quickly and easily from rolls and will leave no residue when taken up. Water resistant thanks to its unique splash guard technology, it was named a 2011 Top Product in the Tomorrow’s Flooring Awards.

Trio Plus’ Temporary Floor Protection Products Now On Set For Filming of Channel 4 Drama-edy ‘My Fat Mad Teenage Diary’

A new channel four drama has kicked off its production schedule by ordering two temporary floor protection products from silver screen favourite, Trio Plus. The Surrey firm has supplied hard floor, carpet and valuable floor protection products to numerous TV production companies this year already and has now added another string to its bow with the order from producers of ‘My Fat Mad Teenage Diary’.
An adaption of Rae Earl's real-life diary of the same name, ‘My Fat Mad Teenage Diary’ is a coming of age series set in Lincolnshire. It is part of a series of new commissions by Channel 4 for the 2012-13 autumn and winter schedule and is now shooting on location. Joining the actors on set is Trio Plus’ standard hard floor protection fleece and Ram Board, the award winning temporary floor protector from the USA.
With a felt topside and polythene backing, the Trio Plus temporary hard floor protection fleece is a fast way to protect hard floors from spills and dirt. Supplied in rolls, it can be applied in moments and once laid, will stay flat and in place for up to 45 days. Non-slip, it is suitable for use in busy public spaces as well as private residences. Imported from the USA, Ram Board is also a tough hard floor protection product suitable for use in busy spaces. Thanks to its unique spill guard technology, Ram Board will protect floors from water, paint, mud and more.
Heavy duty and suitable for use in large scale construction projects, the contractor-strength Ram Board is impenetrable, vapour permeable and can be used as soon as the floor has been laid. It is fast becoming a favourite of production companies tasked with shooting TV series and films on location as it’s tough outer layer makes it suitable for covering valuable and old floors, protecting them from damage caused by heavy foot traffic and filming equipment.
Both Ram Board and the standard hard floor protection fleece can be ordered online at www.TrioPlus.co.uk

Trio Plus Temporary Floor Protection Products Picked By Production Companies Yet Again

Trio Plus, a leading supplier of temporary floor protection products, has confirmed its silver screen credentials with a slew of new orders from TV production companies. It has supplied a range of floor protection products to a host of primetime shows currently filming on location around the country.

Waterloo Road, an award-winning British television drama series, set in and around Waterloo Road, a fictional school for students, has purchased three different products from Trio Plus for the protection of locations during their shoots.

The first is Ram Board, a unique heavy duty temporary hard floor protection product manufactured in the USA and available in the UK exclusively from Trio Plus. Having undergone tests in the toughest of environments, Ram Board has proven to offer an impenetrable defence, making it the solution of choice for new, old and valuable floors. Supplied in rolls, Ram Board is quick and easy to apply and remains flat and true when inplace.  Unlike many hard floor protection products, Ram Board is vapour permeable, which means it can be used to protect floors that have just been laid.

The second product ordered by the Waterloo Road film crew is Premium Fleece. This hard floor protector is reliable, non-slip, durable and hard wearing. It won’t disintegrate in the face of moisture or heavy foot traffic making it easy to sweep clean and safe to use in public areas. The fleece easily absorbs spillages thanks to its polythene backing which locks fluids to prevent moisture seeping through to the floor beneath.

The final product purchased for Waterloo Road is Trio Plus’ Tacky Mats. This floor protection product works by capturing dust and dirt particles from foot traffic passing over its adhesive surface. The dirt from the soles of shoes sticks to the surface of the mat keeping the area beyond clean and dirt free. After it has been walked over a number of times, the exposed mat will become non-sticky. Tac mats consist of 30 layers so once full, the non-sticky layer can be easily peeled off using the numbered tab, revealing a fresh new adhesive surface underneath to be used.

The BBC afternoon drama, Doctors which is based on the lives of staff and patients, has also purchased floor protection from Trio Plus. The team, opted for Correx to protect large areas of hard floors quickly and efficiently. Having replaced traditional materials like plywood and hardboard, Correx is now the industry standard and is favoured for its lightweight structure. Correx is an efficient floor protection solution which is highly versatile and can be used either in sheet form for surface protection or converted into cases, boxes, sleeves and trays.

Ram Board Temporary Floor Protection Gets Full Marks At Exam Time

Two Dorset schools have chosen to opt for a Hollywood-style hard floor protection product specifically imported from the USA to protect their expensive sports hall floors over the exam period. Bryanstone and Clayesmore, both prestigious independent boarding schools, have chosen to use the Ram Board product, which was developed exclusively for use on Hollywood film sets to provide protection from heavy cameras, foot traffic and equipment during filming sessions.

Ram Board is the perfect antidote to the substantial foot traffic that will be a feature of exam season, as well as the weighty chairs and desks which will line the Bryanstone and Clayesmore sports halls. Not only is the hard floor protection product known to be one of the toughest around, it is also one of the most cost effective; lining a sports hall with druggets can cost up to £6,000, while the imported Ram Board can cost less than £1,000.

The fitting of the Ram Board is quick and easy, so there is no need to disrupt sports activities in the hall in the week leading up to the exams. It has been tested and its quality verified on heavy-duty building and construction sites, with forklift trucks carrying weighty loads being driven over it all day long, so it is the perfect product to leave an expensive wooden floor undamaged. The rolls which the Ram Board is supplied on make it easy to transport, and it can be walking upon as soon as it is laid; no drying or setting time necessary.
The innovative temporary floor protection is not only effective and budget-friendly, but also environmentally sound. Made from cardboard, paper, ply-fibres and reinforcer, the Ram Board boasts 100% recycled materials in its make-up. The eco-friendly aspect also means that upon the students finishing their exams, the floor covering can be removed leaving no marks. Best of all, the tough and hardwearing Ram Board can be easily stored and used again whenever necessary. It can be used time and time again to cover a whole multitude of areas, including basketball courts, dance studios and assembly halls, removing the need to purchase disposable floor protection every time.
Floor protection specialists Trio Plus are the only UK suppliers of Ram Board. Orders can be placed online at www.trioplus.co.uk or over the phone: 01372 747555.

Ram Board Chosen To Protect Vintage Floors at 2012 Pasadena House of Design

The award-winning Ram Board range of hard floor protection has been selected by the 2012 Pasadena House of Design. Supplied exclusively in the UK by TrioPlus but originally designed in the USA, Ram Board is Trio Plus' latest addition to its range of temporary floor protection products. It was used to protect the original vintage floors of the House of Design by all of the contractors who took part in the renovation works.

An annual event, The House of Design showcase kicked off on April 15 this year in Pasadena, California. The exhibition features the work of 21 interior designers and seven landscape gardeners who transformed the house using cutting-edge tattoo-like wall designs, hand painted floors and inspirational outdoor spaces. The estate, set in the beautiful La CaƱada Flintridge district, was designed in 1927 and has a total of 8 bedrooms and bathrooms. The house reflects elements of the Spanish Colonial Revival, featuring distinct Spanish, Mexican, Italian and North African designs.  The choice to use Ram Board to protect the estate's vintage floors was in keeping with the taste and style of the estate.

A spokesperson for Trio Plus said, “One of the main advantages of Ram Board hard floor protection is that it provides quick-to-apply, tough and long-lasting floor protection. Earlier this year, the Hale Country Club and Spa in Cheshire chose to use the range during initial construction, showing just how versatile it is.”

Unlike many temporary floor protection products which are not vapour-permeable, Ram Board can be used as soon as the floor has been laid. Engineered for contractors and designed to cover hard floors efficiently and economically, it was named one of the best flooring products of the year by Tomorrow’s Flooring magazine.

Another Prestigious Venue Uses Award-Winning Ram Board

A luxurious country house spa has become the latest high-end venue to enlist the services of floor protection supplier Trio Plus. Hale Country Club and Spa is using the award-winning Ram Board temporary hard floor protector to safeguard valuable floors during the snagging phase of construction.

Situated in the leafy enclave of Hale in Cheshire, the county club is set to open later this spring. With 40,000 square feet spread across three floors, a substantial consignment of Ram Board was the only answer to the need for tough, long-lasting floor protection suitable for use while building works are ongoing. A private facility, Hale Country Club boasts both indoor and outdoor swimming pools, a state-of-the-art health and fitness suite and an indulgent spa.

Manufactured in the USA and available exclusively from Trio Plus, Ram Board temporary hard floor protector has been named one of 2012’s best flooring products by Tomorrow’s Flooring Magazine. It has been used on set during production of Hollywood blockbusters including Armageddon and Pirates of the Caribbean and was developed specifically for the heavy duty needs of the US construction industry.

Despite its name, Ram Board is supplied in roll format, making for easy application when spaces need to be covered quickly. This makes it ideal for large-scale projects such as the 40,000 square foot Hale Country Club and Spa.

Unlike many hard floor protection products, Ram Board incorporates Flex-Fiber technology and a vapour permeable composite which means it can be used while floors are curing. This ensures building works can continue without delay – also aiding in this is the fact that Ram Board can withstand the weight of a fork lift truck so construction and plant can continue with the project at hand. Made from 100% recycled materials, Ram Board is wholly environmentally friendly and has won awards in testament to this fact.
